This milestone release builds on years of development and real-world deployment experience, delivering new features tailored for developers and engineers in robotics, automotive, and broader edge and IoT sectors.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Eclipse Zenoh has proven to be a valuable protocol for innovative robotics and automotive applications, and with this release, we expect that trajectory to accelerate,” said Mike Milinkovich, executive director of the Eclipse Foundation. “Its unique blend of abstraction, scalability, and high performance make it ideal for complex, real-time applications like advanced robotics.” </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Eclipse Zenoh, which has been in use for several years, unifies data in motion, data at rest, and computations. 									<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We&#8217;re happy to announce that the <a href="https://www.openrobotics.org/foundation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Open Source Robotics Foundation (OSRF)</a>, the leader in supporting the development of open source software and hardware platforms for robotics, made available a native integration of </span><strong><a href="https://www.zettascale.tech/zenoh/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zenoh</a></strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in ROS 2.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> To begin with, this integration is available as an experimental release, for the ROS 2 releases Jazzy Jalisco, Rolling Ridley and Iron Irwini.</span></p><p>After thorough consideration, OSRF chose Zenoh to complement the existing support for DDS following a <a href="https://discourse.ros.org/t/ros-2-alternative-middleware-report/33771" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rigorous investigation</a>. It determined that Zenoh is the best potential fit for the needs of ROS users. As a result, it meets the key requirements for current and future robotics applications.</p>								</div>

There&#8217;s no common way to organize data from trucks, making it difficult for fleet management software to work seamlessly. This means companies have to rely on custom solutions for each type of vehicle, hindering the creation of comprehensive fleet management systems.</p><p>Traditionally, data management has employed separate communication technologies for <strong>real-time</strong> (&#8220;data in motion&#8221;) and <strong>stored</strong> (&#8220;data at rest&#8221;) <strong>information</strong>. It acts as a single communication channel, removing the need for complex communication setups, making data delivery smoother. But Zenoh does more than just transport.</p><p>Picture Zenoh routers as small data storage hubs near the trucks – perfect for situations where real-time access is vital. This &#8220;edge storage&#8221; keeps important data ready. No matter where the data is stored, Zenoh Query works like a clever search engine focused on data. It automatically finds the quickest way to get the specific data the services need.</p>								</div>
